Artist History
Carl Franklin, a.k.a. Baby C, was born 9-15-79 in Redmond, WA. He says he started singing at a very early age. When he was about four years old his grandmother started taking him to church. The sermons were cool, he recounts, but what he really loved was the music. Since then C’s debut hit single release “Mob With Me,” was nominated for Song of the Year at the First Annual Northwest Urban Music Awards. Baby C wants to be known for representin’ and it shows in his music. He says he wants people to stand up and take notice of the Seattle urban music scene. A scene that he feels has been overlooked by the major labels and the hip-hop culture in general. At a mere 20 years old, Baby C has a bright future ahead of him. He has four songs appearing on the 2-0-$ickness Albulation due for a fall release. The single “Mob With Me” appeared on Billboard’s New Talent Spotlight Vol. 3 CD, showcasing some of the world’s most promising unsigned acts. His album, “Not to be Funked With,” will also be released in South Africa in March 2000. In addition he has two songs on an X-Games Hip Hop/Snowboard Compilation released in Korea this year and due for release worldwide this summer. Recently, Baby C was in Chicago to perform a live taping of the Jenny Jones show. Baby C performed his hit track “If You Want Some (Come and Get Some)” that is scheduled to air on Wednesday March 15, 2000 at 11am on the WB Network and will be reshown at 12:30am on Thursday morning. A mere seven days after uploading onto Farmclub.com, Baby C’s new single was chosen by FarmClub’s staff as one of the hottest pics and was boosted into the Top 10. All these accomplishments have primed Baby C and Paradine to represent Seattle and take the industry by a “Northwest” storm. |
