Artist description
Wenty is one of the biggest singer/songwriter talents to rise up on the horizon in later years - his songwriting craft easily equals his own influences; his voice has so much soul and expression, conveys so much emotion, that the inevitable comparisons to Lenny Kravitz don't do him any right;and his guitar skills more than suffice to draw comparisons to The Great One And Only(Jimi Hendrix in case you didn't figure it out). He's gathered a backup band consisting exclusively of studio musicians that provide the perfect support for his songs. |

Artist History
Wenty Morris was born and raised in New York City. There he formed his band, The Chocolate Hippies, where he handled both the duties of a frontman and a chief songwriter. With The Chocolate Hippies (known for opening for Dionne Farris and for the inclusion of their song Closer To Heaven in the Clueless soundtrack), he released couple of albums and, after relentless touring with the band, Wenty decided to go solo in order to concentrate on his songwriting (as opposed to performing) career. Coincidentally he decided to change his hometown and moved to LA, where he released his solo album Kismet(Brindle Creme), in 1998. Currently he's working on the follow-up to his solo debut and is selling out crowds in such major LA clubs as The Mint and Luna Park. |

Press Reviews
Music Connection: "Wenty Morris' songs are well written and contain the most important elements needed for hits. He has apparently been influenced by John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, and Prince, among others, which doesn't mean that his music sounds derivative in any way - on the contrary, he stands a great chance of creating a unique identity that will endear him to fans of soulful rock&roll." |
