Artist description
Thrillhouse Collective (THC) is a four-piece band on a mission to revive the spirit of the soul-funk instrumental music of the late 60s and early 70s and take it into entirely new realms. Inspired by the deep grooves of artists like Booker T. and the MGs, The Meters, the J.B.s, and Curtis Mayfield, THCs music also incorporates jazz, blues, psychedelic, and world music influences. The music of Thrillhouse Collective is something a little bit different, treading the line between an irresistible groove and the unknown. It is a genre that can only be described asThrillhouse.Thrillhouse Collectives lineup is a classic four piece featuring Nick Michalopoulos on organ, Nina Talia on drums, Nick Jaffe on guitar, and Bryon Giddens-White on bass. The THC set ranges from up-tempo funk and smoky blues jams to sexy, trance-like grooves, and slightly off-center numbers that have been described as themes to wild movies that havent been thought of yet. THCs set consists mostly of original music, but also features some covers of funk and soul classics like The Meters Cissy Strut and Booker T. and the MGs Green Onions. The Thrillhouse Collective sound is equally at home in a loud club or an intimate bar and is guaranteed to entertain and move an audience. Welcome to a new life. |

Artist History
The core members of Thrillhouse Collective assembled as the inevitable result of dirt shifts on the molecular level in the cracks of a Kuala Lumpur sidewalk. The non-linear outcome of this event was the simultaneous chance encounter of Nick, Nina, Nick, and Bryon in a Chicago garage in the summer of 2000, year one of the age of the treemoss. Their self-conceived mission is to draw you into the disorienting maelstrom that is the Thrillhouse Collective, make sonic love to you, and move your cute little ass, or die trying. Welcome to a new life. |
