Artist description Based on the essence of the hardcore, direct,conscious, Solium constructs a well-made and more complex music, resulting into a mix of emo, alternative and punk-rock. Besides, the lyrics, in portuguese, has the strenght and social engagement of the traditional punkrock but with a unique subjectivity and poetry.

Artist History The band started in early 1998, in Rio de Janeiro,with Luciano playing guitar and singing, Pablo in the bass and Eduardo in drums and vocals. The sound originally was purely hardcore, direct and fast. This stage of the Solium is registered in the first tape released, "Canções para Patos"[Songs for Ducks]. After a year of shows and recognition by the Rio´s indie audiences, and a ripen of the sound, the second tape was launched, Longe dos Seus Dias [Far from your Age]. In this new phase it could be perceived a much more conscious music, concerning the sound itself and the lyrics. The production of this tape too was visibly superior. From this point, the band reached the rest of the country, playing in other cities and joining some CD compilations. New songs continued to appear and the sound them tended even more to other styles like alternative and emocore. After one year since the second tape, Solium again changed a lot its sound. Rafael joined the group, adding new arranges and harmony with a second guitar. To register this phase, the third tape, Gravaciones, was launched in march 2001. Unfortunely, Solium ended just after it because of some different interests among its members. But a good sound mark was left in its short story.
