    Artist History
Born in the industrial heart of North West England, RockerBiff discovered music at young age whilst listening to Jim Reeves at an Aunt's house. Some years later (76) the long hot summer of punk erupted on to the British music scene, yet Biff and his pals stayed with the more traditional sounds of Thin Lizzy, Be-Bop Deluxe, Sad Cafe and Status Quo. 1976 Ian and friends also saw their first ever rock concert - Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow at the Liverpool Empire. After forming a club band, which had Biff as soundman, Topper toured the working men's clubs in the north of England performing cover tunes such as Baker Street, Light my Fire and Whisky in the Jar. Sadly all of which came to an end in the summer of 81 when Biff and his family moved to Vancouver BC.Upon arrival on the "Wild Frontier" the Gregson's dropped in to an economic depression. The heavily unionised music biz had no room for the likes of RockerBiff and so he refocused his talents to a small campus radio station at Simon Fraser University. As a result Biff spun the records on his 4 hour show "Sounds from Abroad" from 83-90. SFA became the stations longest running show to date. Biff also got to meet many of his fave guitarists and performers, Gary Moore, Thomas Dolby, Paul Horn, Allan Holdsworth, Level 42, Wishbone Ash, Cowboy Junkies, Billy Bragg and many more..As the internet revolution dawned, Biff found himself in 95 at the helm of the St Johns University Amputee mailing list, which later developed in to the Amputee web site at http://amputee-online.com In 98 Biff began work as Mac tech support for one of Vancouver's largest ISP's, at which he was introduced to MP3's and rediscovered music all over again. This lead to hosting his own MP3 server on Hotline and eventually on the Mac based Carracho. Rockers Paradise continues to be one of the most popular servers supplying new and unsigned progressive rock and instrumental bands to new audiences.March 2000 saw Biff return to Simon Fraser University to work in the Office of Research services as tech support and to fortuitously meet up Robert Samuel, a musician of many years who was in the process of releasing his music via mp3.com. For the month of September 2000, RockerBiff took over and recorded 9 tracks with no aspirations whatsoever. After some deliberation and consternation RockerBiff performed his first gig in front of live folks at the Adanac Co-Op Community Hall November 18, fulfilling a 23 year dream. UPDATE: November 2001 -RockerBiff releases second cd

"straight unusual, haven't heard anything like it. " Eudia station owner This track drifts somewhere between new age and ambient with some electronic edges, so placement was a toss-up. There is some interesting rhythm weaving and instrumentation that makes it worth a listen. This is my pick from this artist in Vancouver, BC, but give his other stuff a listen, too.
