Artist History
The Heavy Quartet does not fit easily into any category. They are broadly speaking jazz orienteddue to the improvising nature of the music and thepredominance of brass and woodwind. The music is a combination of original pieces and some covers rearranged in a quartet stylee. The current set includes arrangements of Miles Davies, Sydney Bechet and Nirvana! The original tunes fuse ska, dub, funkin' fusion, R & B and contemporary grooves. The Quartet is quite possibly the most qualified band you will encounter with practically everyoneeducated to degree level! Some of the guys are lecturers too, so no messing about at the back of the gig or you'll be sent to the headmaster. Or even Nils! |
