    Artist description
Life-sized, roughly symmetrical, with a michievous glint in the hackles. Laughs at own misfortunes, subsists on organ meats and good intentions.
    Music Style
    Not difficult.
    Musical Influences
The sound of one hand clapping and the sensation of leaning back in a chair and nearly falling over. And Wagner.
    Similar Artists
Mission Of Burma, Lefty Frizzell, Antonin Webern, Rogers & Hammerstein, The Birthday Party, Wilson Pickett, XTC, Lennie Tristano, stuff like that.
    Artist History
Debuted on the Canadian operatic stage at the age of ten. Spotted ten years later on a bus leaving the country rock band in Edmonton for the world beat combo in sunny Vancouver. Ten years still further along sees our hero having toured the world as a member of D.O.A., The Showbusiness Giants, The Veda Hille Band, and others, as well as racking up appearances on almost one hundred releases as a band member or sit-in nuisance-type with artists as diverse as those previously mentioned plus more - The Hanson Brothers, Bourne And MacLeod, The Beat Farmers, Neko Case, and the list goes on. Did we remember to mention the two solo albums and the new website (www.fordpier.com) which features eight songs for free download available nowhere else?
    Group Members
Regular touring lineup features Keith Rose on bass guitar and David Macanulty on drums. Members of The Molestics, NoMeansNo, Hard Rock Miners, the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, and many more can and do drop by - live and on record.
    Instruments
All of 'em. Every darn one.
    Albums
Meconium (Wrong Records 1995); 12-Step Plan, 11-Step Pier (Sudden Death 1999)
    Press Reviews
Overall, we'd have to say the press is a good idea. Not without its drawbacks, naturally, but you can't make an omelette without breaking a sweat. Yes, the press certainly serves a function. We won't try to deny that.
