Artist History
Founded in mid-2000, Chapter 9 began with two members: Chris Remo and Kenny Duncan. They originally composed techno and dance-oriented music, albeit with their own unique blend of electronic genres. Their first album, "Saga," released in November of 2000 reflects this style.
In late 2000, soon after the release of "Saga," Chapter 9 began work on a much more ambitious and complex comcept album, "Time is a Circle." The effort was spearheaded and produced by Remo. It was completed in September 2001, the result of over 9 months of work. The album clearly shows Chapter 9's evolution, and "Time is a Circle" is an experimental work containing many different music themes and issues in a continuous manner. The album is uninterrupted music--there are no gaps between tracks. The songs flow together to create a single musical work. The album was released on September 18, 2001, and can be purchased off Chapter 9's mp3.com site, http://www.mp3.com/chapter9.
Since production on "Time is a Circle" commenced, Chris Remo and Kenny Duncan were joined by Scott Smoot on guitar and Tyler Ward on drums. At the time of their addition to the band, it was too late for them to contribute to "Time is a Circle," but future work will include all the band's members. Recently, Scott was forced to leave the band due to college committments, and was replaced by longtime friend Kyle Knabb on guitar. |
