Artist History Halo, a new Los Angeles rock and roll band, uses the medium of music to explore themysterious and unpredictable nature of love. The group, formed by Michael Stone, playsa dark and delicate mix of rock and alternative music. Michael and original bassistClifford Dawes met each other while auditioning for a band. When they realized theyshared a similar musical vision, they chose the name "Halo" for their new project becausethey has seen the light of inspiration. They put together an album of ten songs entitled"Skyscraping."Changes swept over the band: Cliff opted to spend more time focusing on his career as amultimedia/design and, in the tradition of Spinal Tap, then drummer Joseph Fausettspontaneously combusted while on stage one night at the Alligator Lounge. They had toshut the place down because of the media attention. He has since resurrected and isrumored to be prowling around the Valley to the beat of African drums.Mike knew there was only one person to call to get the band back on the move, his oldtime friend from Nashville, Boyd LeFan. Michael and Boyd grew up in the South andalways shared a love of music, even though they were never in the same band. Boydproduced the band's first album "Skyscraping" and contributed to the material as thesessions progressed. Already familiar with the music, Boyd knew he could add a newedge to the band. Now holding down the spot on bass guitar, Boyd keeps the groove inthe pocket and fuels the band's stage intensity.Michael and Boyd put out the call to find a new drummer. They auditioned many playersand choose Matthew Hedrick, a fellow southerner, because he had a truck and liked thesame pizza toppings. He beat the hell out of his drums and aced the whole "Skyscraping"album note for note for the audition. Halo has just completed some new studio recordingsfeaturing the second line-up and is finishing up material for a second album.
