Artist History True 2 Life: The story begins back in 1993 when live hip-hop was considered so underground it was hard to find what ground it was under. Back when 6 catz with the same dream, the same determination, and the same desires got together to form a live hip-hop band called "Smokin Sukaz Wit Logic" (SSL). Within a year they were signed to Epic Records, within four the stress and internal differences in signing a major deal too quickly would get the best of them. And like many great bands that are before their time, SSL was no more. And in their death, a new life was born.The show must go on: After the band's breakup, G (a.k.a. Rodan da Thinka) and Peter Jorge (a.k.a. Ajoe),two of SSL's founding members, hooked up with Eddie Hernandez (a.k.a DJ Wrex)and would go on to become TRUE 2 LIFE in 1997.With Rodan on the mic, Wrex on the turntables and Ajoe providing the beatz,they created songs that painted pictures of survival on the streets through hustling and hip-hop.Just as they were finishing what they thought would be their first album, and their name was beginning to buzz a little, Rodan met a man that would change the direction of TRUE 2 LIFE forever. His name was Jesus. The album was then scrapped, and for almost on year they were at a standstill.Encore: There is a time for everything under the sun, and the time to create was at hand onceagain. They went back into the studio and started working on new material. They stillspeak about survival on the streets, only now they also speak of hope.
