    Artist History
My love of music began in grade school, when I surprised my family (and myself) by singing songs in their entirety after hearing them just once on the radio. My mom sent me to piano lessons, and I got my first keyboard in fourth grade. I got my first turntable in fifth grade, along with the albums 'Wham - Make it Big' and 'Michael Jackson - Thriller' (the one with the huge fold-out picture of him reclining with a tiger). In sixth grade I learned how to play the trumpet.I met my friend, collaborator, and co-conspirator Sami Takeiddin in high school, and he introduced me to Jean Michel Jarre and the wonders of the modern synth. Sami was (and is) a prolific musician, and we composed music together, with Sami playing the keyboards and me singing and producing. One night I secretly borrowed the tape deck from my parents' stereo system (my dad would have killed me if he knew) and we recorded our first album in five hours, a collection of songs spoofing our high school teachers. We wrote most of the songs on the spot, mixed them down live with as few takes as possible, and at the end of the grueling recording session I snuck back home way past my curfew with tape deck in tow. Luckily my mom covered for me and my dad was none the wiser. The result was 45 minutes of pure hilarity, and the tape was widely circulated amongst the students at our school. Alas, my only copy was stolen out of my car several years ago, but I can still hear those songs verbatim in my head and they always make me smile.Later Sami and I recorded a sappy love song, an album with other college friends, and continue to collaborate on music today. My love of electronic music really took flight in college, when two friends loaned me 'Orbital 2' (the brown album) and 'Autechre - Incunabula'. That lead to an obsession with dance music, especially trance, and I bought two Technics turntables and a mixer in the fall of '96, beginning my career as a dj. I got my first synthesizer in '98, and my first 'real' synthesizer in the summer of '00. The compositions here are the result of my explorations of my new gear, as well as two recent (and fairly traumatic) breakups.
