Artist History Formed in 1999, Sideways Eight is steadily becoming known for the energy of their live performances. Fueled by the vocal harmonies Lead Singer Bruce Florence and Guitarist Donnie Honeycutt, the textured melodic lines of guitarist Brian Menear, and the steady groove of Bassist Kenny Heim and Drummer Eddie Bassett the band combines influences of old and new for a unique modern sound. The band competed in the 2000/2001 Jagermusic.com Battle of The Bands and finished #16 out of about 125 bands worldwide. Jagermeister was impressed with the band's music and decided to officialy sponsor them. Jagermeister also sponsors such national acts as Drowning Pool, Lit and Pantera. Sideways Eight has competed in several Battle of The Bands and been nominated/won awards for "Most Professional Show, Best Overall Musical Talent, Best Male Vocals, Best Original Song-"Into The Blue, Best Guitar, and Best Mainstream Band." Finishing 2nd in their most recent comepetition, they have consistently beat out some the areas best bands. The band has participated in local festivals including "Speed Street" which features national acts in conjunction with NASCAR star appearances. The band is currently in the studio completing their 2nd CD.
