Artist History
Mick and his Flying Platters span the global spectrum of pop music in a fun and adventurous manner. The brilliant guitar work of Mick Hoyle seasons any production that has the fortune of being graced with his craft. But more than just a guitar virtuoso, Hoyle is also quite proficient at keyboards and vocals. Wit manages to find its way into Mick's music, like on his hysterically chilling rendition of Vic Mizzy's "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken" from the Don Knotts movie of the same name. Mick is a veteran of such combos as London, The Vinyl Hounds, The Johnny High Band, The Hunger, The Midnite Werewolves, Debo's Farm - and is one of the founding members of The Fish Police (trivia: he was Neil Eel!) He's also done session work with Beth, Splint Staggs, Schoolboy Tilt, and Exodus, among other Buzz USA stablemates. Mick and the Flying Platters have appeared on numerous compilations and have released a handful of brilliant singles for Buzz USA. Their first extended play waxing, "Mr. Glad" was released in September 2000. |
