Artist History
A Hollywood style rockers from Helsinki, Finland, FlyLow Organization has been the name onthe lips of the music community for a while now. After claiming a warm welcome with their debut of Universal Me & Kings of Petrol (Le rois du petrolé) singlethese grunge-city natives went through a series of changes that, according
to them "were just the necessary adjustments to create a great band".
Wilson Cabriolette made some comments on this "...we discovered ourselves again,
went through a kind of rebirth" he says "before we tried to be too many
things at the same time and ended up with nothing. Now we united our
strenghts and got away from the weaknesses".
With their follow up Rivers & Golden single, FlyLow boys combined
their biggest influences and created a package which brought grunge music
to the 21st century.
Luke Thundercurve, the singer with the blonde spiked hair that contrast with
the dark features of Wilson said:
"With Rivers and Golden we learned how to capture the
feeling of the lyrics and bring them into the music. We wanted to create
something new but at the same time we weren't ashamed of
showing where our influences come from. You can hear loads of different
musical styles in our music ranging from Frank Sinatra to Bon Jovi and from
bluegrass to, of course, good old grunge.".
In december 2002 the band released their third single, Brand New Boy. Included on the cd is also an old George Harrison diamond While My Guitar Gently Weeps. The songs show that the band has found its way even deeper in the melodies and portraits a band that has again learned new things. There is also an ep release scheduled for the spring 2003, which will push the limits of FlyLow Organization music even further.
Still it is on stage where FlyLow Organization show their true colors. When the quartet performs it is Wilson and Luke that are the ones in charge ofthe entertaining and singing, while the drum&bass-pair Jayrock Rockwell and BassMikey blast away with the rhythm and the grooves.
FlyLow crew concentrates a lot in their Hollywood-style outlooks and the
shows offer action for all the senses. Especially the ladies have gone
wild in concerts, on which Luke comments with a smile: "The thing is that
we are like a superhero group, everyone has their own power which
adds up to the synergy of the show. When we are onstage there is a
constant competition between Cab and I to see which one of us can
provoque more reaction from the crowd while Bass and Jayrock have
their own show in the back".
The term 'superhero-grunge' describes in many ways what FlyLow
Organization music is all about. With their new single release they will be
going on an extended tour through various big cities. There is a
rumour about a flame-spitting giant robot and a group of FlyLow cheerleaders
in the new set. When we asked about those the guys just smiled enigmaticly
and said, "...you just have to come and check that out for yourself".
