Artist History
X-Ray Roger Jimmy was formed in October of 1994. Since its formation, X-Ray Roger Jimmy has played continuously
in Indiana, Michigan, and Illinois for a wide variety of audiences. The unique sound and stage presence of this band
turns all spectators into fans.
Their self-titled debut album was recorded live in six hours at the Chicago Recording Company, a studio frequented
by the likes of Ministry, Sting, Helmet, and Smashing Pumpkins. This ten-track recording gives exceptional insight
into the musical range of the group, and through it X-Ray Roger Jimmy has established themselves as a band with a
desire to be on the cutting edge of rock 'n' roll.
After having sold over 2000 copies of their self-titled debut, X-Ray Roger Jimmy is ready to reissue their first disc
while their second album, RADIOPAQUE, released in February of 1998, has already sold more than 1000 copies. The
second printing will soon be available. RADIOPAQUE was recorded at Gravity Studios in Chicago, Illinois, where the
band was able to record on 2 inch analog for a richer sound. This album has sparked interest in a number of major
labes, and in December of 1998, X-RAY went back into the studio, and recorded some more new songs which they
are sending out to the interested A&R representatives. Their music is so successful, in fact, that they have been
featured on some of the biggest radio stations in Indiana. In addition, their music has been selected to be on the Live
From Bloomington compilation CD with other well known Indiana bands like Old Pike, currently on Sony 550.
Having begun their career in South Bend, Indiana, X-Ray Roger Jimmy has already established a following in
Northern Indiana. After winning the Beach Jam Challenge out of over 60 bands at 107.1 FM WIRX in St. Joseph,
Michigan, this following expanded throughout Southern Michigan. Finally, after their move to Indiana University in
Bloomington, their fan-base now includes Southern Indiana, especially the vast student population at IU.
At the present time, X-Ray Roger Jimmy is beginning to play in Ohio, Kentucky, and Illinois, with a particular
emphasis on Chicago. They believe their music will succeed in these areas just as it has everywhere else they have
played. They seek a label which will be able to keep up with their fast pace and promote their sound on a national
level.
Comprised of the two former groups, The Killing Floor and Katharsis, X-RAY ROGER JIMMY formed due to their
desire to compose original music and develop their own unique style. |
