Artist description
Tamborazo is a style of Mexican music that finds
it's origins in Germany. It is the Mexican version
of the Oompah Band. It was brought to Mexico by
German miners during the early 1900's.
The Tamborazos usually consist of 7 members. One that plays a
bass drum, another a snare drum and cymbals.
The rest are two trumpets, two saxophones and a
clarinet or trombone depending on the tune.

The band was formed in Los Angeles, California
in 1975. The band was named after the city in Mexico where the Tamborazo
is believed to have originated. That city being
Jerez, Zacatecas, which is in central Mexico and where
Tamborazo groups are part of the musical landscape.
