Artist History
John and Angie Taylor are a husband and wife (singer, songwriter, musician) team who compose and perform their (children's, jazz, new age, and religious) music. John plays trumpet and keyboards and Angie some piano and guitar. John also has his own jazz band. So far, the couple have had 9 songs picked up by 3 music publishers (DSM, Woodrich, and Simply Grand Publishers). Their songs are being used for an upcoming TV children's and outdoor series "Fishing the Emerald Coast" aired weekly where they write the music for the episodes and the theme song. John and Angie write music for commercials too. In December , John and Angie's songs will be on three educational CD-ROMS to be sold in major retail stores (Walmart etc) nationwide. It will be the Peekaboo Baby/Toddler/Preschool series. (The details on the TV series and CD-ROMS will be posted soon in our Calendar and Notes Section) . A children's software company in Canada (MGI Software and Video) just picked up the Taylor's songs for their video marketing campaign for children. They picked up "What will I be when I grow up" and "You're Gonna be Happy." You can find these songs on the Taylor's other web page http://www.mp3.com/johnandangie. The Taylor's are being featured on college radio and also on three Internet radio stations (btsradio and XEradio & thestreamradio). John has coordinated their music on the "regular" local radio with public services announcements. A major jewelry/gem (HOUSE OF ONYX) manufacturer is using The Taylor's songs on their nationwide video mailed to customers worldwide. Also a new book ( INTERNET, I Didn't Know You Could Do That) has the song "Chinese Waterfall" featured in the CD which comes with the book. (put out by Sybex Books a major book distributor). This book is being sold nationwide in the USA and also in Western Europe and England and will be translated in foreign languages. Both John and Angie Taylor have a background playing clubs, parties, churches, schools, parties but John has a much more extensive musical background. John holds a Master's Degree in Music and has attended the two, top, famed USA music schools (The Eastman School of Music and Northwestern University). Chuck Mangione was John's trumpet teacher in college at Eastman and also studied with renowned trumpeter Bobby Shew in Los Angeles. John toured for 9 months in the USA and Canada with a major top 10 act "The Charlie Daniel's Band," and was their lead trumpet player and music arranger. John has performed on the same venues on the same nights with musicians from the bands of Anita Baker, Woody Herman and Maynard Ferguson, as well as session and concert work with Bobby Shew and Chuck Mangione. John backed up "The Temptations" with his trumpet playing. John has performed in orchestras being the lead trumpet player, weddings, parades, fairs, conferences, etc. He has also traveled to South America, Caribbean and Alaska performing in a show band on 3 different cruise ships. When Walt Disney Studios was televising the "New Mickey Mouse Club," John has performed all the music for it. The Mac Users Group has used John's music for their product's marketing. John grew up in Jamestown, New York and Angie in Los Angeles County, CA. During the summers for the past 2 years, John is a college radio disc jockey for a jazz and educational radio station, KSPC. He and Angie are also celebrity interviewers of jazz greats (Horace Silver, Bobby Shew, The Four Freshman and Freddie Ravel). They have kept the "taped" interviews of these people too. John and Angie are also great computer music teachers as a "day job." The couple plans on continuing to perform and write music and can write music in most styles.MP3.com..has featured "Cameo" and "Paradise Island" and also have included "We Will Meet Again" and Paradise Island" on (2) of their CD compilations. The Taylors have had (12) Number One songs and (14) songs featured on MP3.com. Also John and Angie were featured on the Front Page of MP3.com November 11, 1999. AS OF THE YEAR 2001, John and Angie have been on KPAL, Channel 23, Television Show singing their original music; also the country of UKRAINE, FMJAZZ KRAJ, plays their music nightly to 5 million listeners; John and Angie were on the front page of "The Antelope Valley Press, April 20, with article inside; and ALSO...John and Angie have a jazz band and an "original oldies British Invasion Band" which performs in the Los Angeles Area.
