Artist History
Hot Property began in the summer of 1996 as four friends getting together to jam. From day one it was "Ska"tt DDDD Weed, Dr. Ted Nelson, Soda Pop and Chet. At their first practice "The Last Three Men On Earth" was written. At this point Hot Property realized they needed to add more instrumentation to their repertoire. They asked for the help of Grizzly Adam and Billy Loomis to fill in the gaps. The band continued to write and expand its boundaries. On February 28th, 1997, they got their first gig, opening for the "hardcore" band Zao. From there they took part in numerous Battle of the Bands and eventually got their name out well enough where clubs began to call them for shows. A few months after their arrival in the local music scene they befriended a character by the name of The Arm. With his addition Hot Property was, for the time being, complete. With help of its fellow local bands and numerous supporters Hot Property became a recognizable name in the Cleveland music scene. Hot Property has recently been faced with members attending college away from Cleveland. This has made things difficult, but not impossible. In September of 1999 another member joined the band. With the addition of T-Vase on bass guitar Hot Property will have more flexibility than ever before. They are currently continuing to compose and perform, setting no limits for themselves. There is no telling what may happen next |

Press Reviews
"The spirited troupe is a brass- and bass-rooted sextet that's quite entertaining. With a little more than a year under their collective belt, they pretty well have their chops down, not to mention a lot of their onstage shenanigans and antics. Their material is largely instrumental, and when they do step to the microphone, it's usually to add hoots, hollers and mini-chants. They're wild to watch." - Scene Magazine; "Hot Property sounded good but I don't understand why they have a person witha white mask, a cloak and flashlights wandering around on the stage at all their shows." - BossHogg News, Feb. '99; "Hot Property started the ska night off with their predominately instrumental set. A large amount of Hot Property fans were in attendance skanking to the beat as if their lives depended on it...This sextet did a good job keeping everyone's attention." - Scene Magazine; "Hot Property, as per the norm, had some weird dude in a mask with flashlights walking around." |
