Artist History Hessians was formed in 1989 by founding members Sam Durham and Drew Hubbard when they were in 8th grade. The band was a reaction to the music available at the time which seemed stagnant. After many garage band gigs, high school parties, other embarassing performance venues, and countless member changes, the Hessians had found their niche as a talented young rock band with a small but loyal following in the Heart of America. Gigging around the Kansas City night club scene wasn't easy for the young band. Since all members were under 21 years old, often the Hessians were made to wait outside bars in which they were to perform until the show started, and as soon as it was over, they were required to leave. Currently all three members are pursuing other interests and side projects though they still jam together on a regular basis.
