Press Reviews From Strutterzine STILL THINKING-DAS (INDEPENDENT)Another independent recording aor/melodic rock band out of the USA. DAS is coming out of Madison, Wisconsin and they have released a 4-track demo CDR titled 'Still thinking'. The first two tracks, "Stand up" and "In God we trust", are nice up tempo guitar orientated melodic rockers a la early ICON. Track 3 is lighter and better. "Looking glass" has some OAR influences and some Progressive influences. Just like the band added, they have been influenced by JOURNEY and DREAM THEATER. Well, their song "Looking glass" sounds like a mix between those two acts, The final track, the title track "Still thinking", is their best song. This song is a wonderful piece of 80s typed up tempo melodic rock with some dramatic lead vocals and a sound comparable to the first DANGER If you like any of the mentioned arena melodic rock bands, then this DAS is interesting for you. The demo is quite nicely produced and opens up with the Van Halenish "Stand Up" which includes some nice David Lee Rothinsims on the vocals front..next up is "In God We Trust" a clear mid-tempo rocker, whilst the incredibly catchy "Looking Glass" may be an area that DAS could explore and develop their style that leaves us with the title song itself which apes Sleeze Beeze and Van Halen and leaves me wanting more and more!!!
