Artist History
Seven Story Drop was founded by Jeff Current(guitar/vocals) along with Chris Dietz(bass) and former drummer Josh Davies in May 2000. SSD recorded their 6 song EP in March, 2001, selling more than 100 copies in the first two months of it being out, and about 500 copies to date. SSD added a 4th member, lead guitar player Chris Henslee to the mix in August, 2001 for a more complete, textured sound. In August, 2002 SSD made the necessary changes for the future by parting ways with drummer-Josh and lead guitarist-Chris Henslee, and then added drummer Steve Allen. Steve is a God Send.
SSD has had several awards and accomplishments to their name over the past 2 years. They won Harder Beat Magazine’s Showcase-Battle of the Bands in March 2001, was named a finalist in the DFWscene.com “Eighth Effect” contest in 2002, named one of Dallas’ “Top 10 Bands for 2001” by Harder Beat Magazine, and named “#1 Dallas Band” by Barstar.com for 2002. Now that's something to say for a band who's only been in existence for 2 1/2 years.

"SevenStoryDrop is very impressive with good musicianship and terrific songs, especially 'Average' and 'Fire Inside'. In fact, just about every one is radio friendly." -article by Jason Janik/Linda Hollar, quoted from the July issue of Harder Beat magazine |
