    Artist History
    Rosanne marked her recording debut with "A Little Nip", the powerful and highly acclaimed compilation of women artists from the Hudson Valley Region released by Grrr Records in 1994. Her first full length recording, "Frantic and Weightless", was released in 1996 to rave reviews. "Rosanne, who has one of the most life affirming voices in this bounty of golden throats, fashions a work that is as haunting as it is striking in its intensity", says Eye on Saratoga Magazine. "Frantic and Weightless" was named by several area music reviewers, as one of the top five local and national releases for 1996. Rosanne was voted Best Acoustic Performer in 1996, Best Female Acoustic Performer in 1997 and Best Female Solo Artist in 1998 by Metroland Magazine, and Best Female Singer-Songwriter in 1999 by Metroland Magazine and The Times Union. Rosanne is featured in the book SOLO: Women Singer-Songwriters In Their Own Words, a collection of interviews and photos of twenty of today's premier women singer-songwriters, along with Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, Joan Osborne, Sheryl Crow, Shawn Colvin, Suzanne Vega, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Ani DiFranco, Holly Palmer, Katie Curtis, Cassandra Wilson, and Rosanne Cash. SOLO, by Marc Woodworth and Emma Dodge Hanson, published by Dell Publishing, was released in August, 1998. Rosanne was chosen to be featured on the premier of the award-winning cable television series "Sounding Board", produced by Time Warner Cable, which showcases regional musicians and songwriters and was first aired in January, 1999. She has also been a guest host on the program. Rosanne was the winner of the 1994-95 Turtle Hill Festival Showcase Competition in Rochester, New York, the 1995 Tinker Street Café Open Mic Competition in Woodstock, New York and has opened for Rickie Lee Jones, Rosanne Cash, June Tabor, Ani DiFranco, Maria Muldaur, Bill Morrisey, Jonathan Edwards, The Rude Girls, Dave Mallett and Tony Bird, and has shared the stage with Garnet Rogers, Tom Paxton, Trout Fishing in America, Lucy Kaplansky, Anson Olds, The Burns Sisters and Michael Jerling. Rosanne's second full-length recording, "Parhelion", will be released in the late summer of 2000.
