Press Reviews
Morris Code received their first review of their new
CD "Code a la Mode" by HBH of www.smooth-jazz.de
Check it out at First View: "The album could be considered smooth jazz with a copious touch of jazz by sophisticated harmonies and intensive jazz soloing, bound together by a very melodic approach of front lady Peggy Morris. Groove with Soul with a fantastic singer and multinstrumentalist in front and a versatile rhythm section with live qualities and the grooves definetly "in the pocket". This album is for smooth jazz connoisseurs with a jazz touch. See you at Morris Code live shows."
------ "If you are looking for something different, with a subtle touch of verve and class, CODE A LA MODE should be first choice on your list.. The musicians in this collection come together and make beautiful music together which is both highly melodic and highly harmonic. CODE A LA MODE will touch you with its open directness and straight-ahead approach. Each song is innovative, imaginative, and enjoyable listening. Highly recommended!"

"Just For You"
"Their sound is part funky, part playful, part contemplative - and always engaging. Listen to the tracks and you can hear the joy they bring to their playing. This is one "Code" that everyone should know." Kenneth Pearson, Jazzman Online http://www.jazzmanonline.net/reviews0500.htm______________ "Morris Code has a strong, distinctive sound and energy rooted in jazz fusion and funk. Unlike much of the music that dominates radio these days, this music has body and complexity. Grabbing your attention on the first note, their music is just plain fun. "Just For You" is a fantastic release!" Lois J. Roe "Jazz Exodus" www.thejazznation.com_______________ "Peggy, her husband Bob, and drummer Chris Ceja create some of the hottest, sexiest jazz I've heard in a while. I was blown away by Peggy's sax wailing, reminding me of David Sanborn, Candy Dulfer, Bill Bousfield of 3 Hole Punch and Jay Beckenstein of Spyro Gyra." Erik Deckers, http://www.indie-music.com/reviews/morriscodereview900.htm_______________"Have yourself a special treat and purchase the new release by, MORRIS CODE, for it is a dandy of a nice CD packed full of sweet contemporary jazz! "JUST FOR YOU" is a good solid collection of contemporary jazz, performed with feeling and much talent! Entertaining CD!!!" Lee Prosser, http://www.jazzreview.com/jaagas98.html______________ "Their camaraderie and love is felt throughout the project. Each shares the musical spotlight equally with the solid and fine performance of drummer Chris Ceja. "Just For You" features many mellifluent themes meshing serious rhythms and fresh cadences." Fred's Jazz Corner www.contemporaryjazz.com/fredsjazz/index.html#newartist_____________ "Production touches, such as the synthetically treated scat vocal in "Fluticious" and the wah-wahed squelches that introduce "G Wiz", keep this expertly recorded album sounding fresh throughout."
