Press Reviews
Black Monday Mag:Lithium are the monsters of dark electronic/metal/slo-core music. Lithium have produced a crunching, in-your-face leviathon of rage. 'Insect' pummels you into submission with it's reletless, pounding insistance. Screaming guitars and distinguishable vocals with a hook make this track extremely listenable and memoriable. The second track, 'Failure', is just as intense as 'Insect' whilst being less frenzied. The bassline acts as a tether, keeping 'Failure' from become yet another monster track. The tension builds and builds, but never escapes... it's almost unsettling as you want this song to go made in your aural space. 'Ugly Friend' ends this not-long-enough release with a tension building chameleon. Starting off with a rather calm, disserting demeanor, 'Ugly Friend' soon unleashes a wall of sound and distortion that dismissess any of it's missplaced satient qualities. Then it's back to the rhytmic lull and urgent vocals. Lithium is impressive, leaning more towards electro-metal than the industrial. However, don't think that Lithium are just another band following the flock. No. Lithium are the thorn.... (miles) |
