Artist History
In their heyday, the original Fractured were never a hardworking band. Now after a fifteen year layoff the boys are back revived, refreshed, rejuvenated - and, their long time fans may be sad to hear, quite a lot better. As a fourpiece the new Fractured have shaken off many of the organisational difficulties that prevented the original line up(s) from achieveing the heights they surely deserved. The format distills the very best of Fractured, featuring the original three founder members the drummer universally acclaimed as the best of the many who tried to fill this demanding role. It's harder, it's tighter, it's Fractured. |

HERE COMES THE FLOOD
Do you remember the first time? You remember the first time she smiled back - this was like that. You remember "I Don't Mind" on TOTP - this was like that. Things you could've said, things you should've said. A glance, a whisper - fifteen fucking years in a world that efficiently separates us. Gives us stuff to love instead of what really matters - each other. Tonight Matthew, we're going to be... immortal.
I FELL IN THE FIRE
Freezer, the backbeat. Clean pure body-blows echo through the city. Part Jaki Liebezeit, part Jerry Nolan. You feel motionless but your body's out of control, you feel silence, but you're screaming. Locked into the pulsebeat, unable to escape, you're lost again. A shiver, a memory - Jeff's voice ducking, diving. That "aaaawww" at the end of some lines, an echo of Weller, of Perrett. A relentless race to the chorus, foot on the gas, no brakes. Burning. Diving into "Can't go on" (brutal, beautiful)- catch some breath before you forget yourself and face the flames again.
THE THINGS WE SAID TODAY
Id - fluid, driving bass, nothing out of place. Locked into the kick drum. Andy - a warm neon fuzztone, so lavish, so stark. You think you're in a whirlpool (fact is you can't prove it). She smiles again."Box Elder" swings, sways - a moment of bar-room melancholy, life is clearer through the bottom of your beer glass. A greyhound bus on the streets of N1.... and you're on the sidewalk in the cold and wet....watching.You can't stop now, you've had to give up too much to get this far. "Fact Is", "Only 15". Knockout blows, but you still want more. Hit me, hit me again, hit me harder you fucker.
Figuring out what you want from life is hard enough.
