Artist History Flytrap is a NYC-based band consisting of 5 members from the Brooklyn/Queens areas. This hard-rocking, heavy melodic quintet formed in 2000. Their sound range from heavy, thrashing rock, to melodic, unique compositions, to a combination of both. By way of luck and fate, these 5 guys of totally different worlds of music came together to blend what is now the sounds you hear or will ever hear. Playing for years in other projects gave these guys the experience and knowledge to perfect their sound and work as a unit together.

Press Reviews CD Review After listening to Flytrap's Demo disc, and also some other tracks via their website flytrapmusic.com, I am quite convinced that this quintet from Brooklyn/Queens is on their way to a successful career in the most popular genre of today's alternative scene, rap-rock, with a little less rap. But don't think that Flytrap is another wannabe Linkin Park. These guys possess a sound that is mosher-friendly, yet mellow and abstract at times, mostly thanks to turntable mastermind Amazin A, who provides the ever-so-peculiar background sounds and vinyl scratching. Mystifying guitar chords, backed up by a sizzling drum and bass, provide for a hard-hitting combination, which is ready to hit the airwaves. Their first song on the disc, "Ricochet" offers all that Flytrap has to offer. From the insistent synchronization throughout the song, this jam truly rocks out and could be the next local artist single of the week. Perhaps one of their most popular songs, "Stitches" was next on the disc. What a head-banging, screaming-at-the-top-of-your-lungs kind of jam. The addition of DJ Amazin A and his turntable faithfulness adds for a soulful experience. The last jam on the demo disc is "Breaking Point", which slows Flytrap down a tad, but it doesn't let up on totally jamming and rocking out. From verse to verse the song battles from light to hard as if the different tones were having a fight. A well scripted and rehearsed fight however. It is definitely some cool stuff.
