Artist History In 1996 Brian, Jim and Todd Polley formed a hardcore grunge-garage band and did nothing but belt out noise in the garage...meanwhile matt and john mossop were writing music ina different band...one day jim and brian decided to jam with matt and john...they formed "simplesun", a matthew sweet-weezer-greendayish sounding band. Simple Sun wrote about 10 songs..won a talent show, and played a few gigs, meanwhile in horseheads NY jeff pitts was busy as a solo artist doing adam sandler covers for local talent shows and jamming with his band. In the summer of 1997 SimpleSun broke up, Jim and Matt went to college...and brian and John stayed in Eden NY...In College Matt met Jeff, Jim Matt Jeff and Brian then formed "Citris Orange", Citris Orange played numerous show around buffalo and fredonia NY and anywhere in between..in 1998 they recorded a six song EP...in 1999 the band took about 6 months and wrote music...after hearing the finished products, they changed their name, and styles...the name dropkids came anbout in the fall of 1999 after matt was flipping through the newspaperand saw the horseracing name "lemon-dropkid" they dropped the lemon and became the Dropkids. Dropkids Released the "Moons & Goochers" EP which was Recorded by Terry Sawchuck in Toronto, Ontario...and recently John Mossop has been added back to the line up...dropkids are in the midst of booking a 2001 summer tour with the band "this End up" and are working on pre-production for a new EP...keep checking back for updates
