Artist description
Tom & Prent play music on instruments of their own construction. Most are electro-acoustic, amplified sounds picked up by contact microphones and magnetic transducers. The sound sources are plucked, bowed, or stroked strings, springs, rods, and other objects. Free Improvisation is the organizational principal. These recordings were made in 1986-1988 in San Jose and San Francisco. Some overdubbing was done, by playing back a previous improvisation, and adding new sounds to the mix. Some songs were recorded in concert, but most were done on Sunday afternoons at Tom or Prent's house, |
