Artist History
Jeremy Cubert has been playing and writing music for many years in bands such as Quest, The History of Ties and Brave New World. ‘From A to B’ feature material written over a ten year period: “The music never really fit within the context of previous groups and projects. I asked Bill Curtis if he could help me make an album out of this collection of music I had kept on the back burner, waiting for the right opportunity.” Bill Curtis (Zapotec/Acoustic Tales) was more than up for the task. Bill and Jeremy recruited drummer Chris Mack (Illuvatar) and the three got together to record the drums and several improvised compositions. Bill Curtis added his guitar fire throughout and steps out on ‘Happy the Fan’ with a powerful outro solo. Violinist Anna Hubbell (Zapotec/Acoustic Tales) added her angular and flowing lines to ‘Happy The Fan’ and carries the listener on the strings of her Zeta electric violin for ‘Windmills’. Bassist Rick Kessler (Quest) adds his inventive touch and the sounds of his Ken Smith and Rickenbacker basses to ‘Line of Sight’ and ‘Windmills’, while bassist Mike Galway (Uncle Gut) lays down some funky fretless on ‘Happy The Fan’. ‘Go’ features Jeremy Cubert and Chris Mack in a duet featuring Jeremy on organ and Chapman Stick® and powerful drumming by Chris complete with a mind-blowing solo spot. |

Press Reviews
Tiptoeing the middle ground between Progressive Rock and Fusion, the Jeremy Cubert Project take listeners on a sonic roller coaster ride, complete with aural spins, dips and loop-de-loops. The band's instrumental offerings include a wide variety of instruments, moods and tempo changes to keep imaginations active and engaged. Linda R., Listen.comBack in the early ‘70s, Emerson, Lake & Palmer enchanted progressive rock fans with their patented blend of keyboard-based music. Even back then, some said the one thing missing from the trio’s line-up was a hot guitarist. Well thirty years later keyboardist Jeremy Cubert succeeds in executing a similar sound in the time-honored ELP spirit and rounding out the JC Project sound is some fine work from electric/acoustic guitarist Bill Curtis. Curtis also rises to the occasion with his production, engineering and compositional work. Not only does Cubert exhibit impressive keyboard and compositional skills, but he also adds in some tasty work on Chapman Stick and synth bass. Rounding out the project CD is outstanding support from Anna Hubbell (violin) and Chris Mack (drums). From A To B is a well rounded album of elegantly performed instrumental progressive rock with just the right touches of classical and New Age sounds. mwe3.com |
