Artist description
"Great lyrics, great songs. SOFT TALK, as the name suggests (derived from the Liverpudlian expression 'don't talk soft') do not produce the hardest edged music you're ever likely to hear. But if you've a sneaky liking for catchy melody, honest to goodness song crafting skills and the oh so English art of quirkiness this lot could well be your cup of tea. "If passion and intelligence are your thing you could do much worse than the title track THE GREED AND THE HUNGER.Do yourself a favour. Get in touch with your SOFT TALK side." |

SOFT TALK's main contributer is David Joshua. Matthew Seligman had a big hand too. Other contributors include Dave Beale, Andy Phillips, Anthony England and Lesley Branagan. David Beadle, Chris Remmington and Phil Beale also deserve praise. As do Putney, Jack & George and the ever youthful Geraldine Cash. The late Greg O'Shea did the fab photo. |

Press Reviews
peoplesound review - Although the pseudo 80’s histrionics of ‘Danny’ and ‘The Greed and The Hunger’ are to be applauded in terms of production and accompanying vocal, Soft Talk’s strengths quite clearly lie in the slower, less contrived sounds of ‘Mad About You’ and ‘Rain’. The former is a beautiful Badly Drawn Boyesque/Smiths affair that’s graced with aching melody, acoustic guitar, and sublime, poetic words whilst the latter builds expertly evoking a typical emotional epic by the likes of Gene. |
