Artist History
Paul Morgan, born and raised in Wales, started out as a tech for The Moody Blues, Gary Moore, Meatloaf, Uli Jon Roth, and various other rock bands. Production coordinating and touring with bands throughout Europe, and Britain eventually brought him to the United States. After a few years of touring, he became completely disillusioned with the whole music scene and quit the business altogether. Paul moved to Pennsylvania where he now resides and continued to experiment with his guitar. He couldn't stay away from the industry for long though and eventually started doing what his heart told him to-make music. Inspired by Paul Kossoff, Eric Johnson, and Tommy Bolin, Paul learned to approach the guitar in a different way and started making music with a distinct slant that comes from his soul. |

Press Reviews
I honestly think [Paul Morgan] has so much talent. …to make poetry come from an instrument in the way he does....it was truly beautiful. I really love the melodic quality of his music. Its "new age" sounding without being "cold" which a lot of modern music tends to be. It seems people have the tendency to edit out too much of the true sounds of music and so end up with a final version that is somehow cold or sterile. His music isn't like that.....he has created something that rings with warmth and depth. I wish him much success with “Shades of a Soul”. Newport Times11/10/00Both bluesy and atmospheric, this debut is a mood-setter.Reviewer: Robert Desimone Manayunk MuseShades of a Soul, the debut effort from Paul Morgan is a refreshing change of pace from the current teen-pop and angry rap-rock dominated musical climate. Combining soulful blues with new-age like atmospheres, the fourteen tracks seem to offer insight to the artist himself. The music sets many moods ranging from reflective and insightful to pure joy. The use of slide guitar, E-bow, and effects are ingredients in the musical mix that make each track unique and keep the listener interested and wanting more. On the whole, Shades of a Soul is a worthwhile addition to your CD collection. A great easy going sentimental rock-blues journey of the soul.Reviewer: Paul L. Adler Oaks Daily An inspirational and textured album for those nights when you want to take it easy. Blending blues, rock and touches of new-age creativity. The easy blending sounds come together through a medley of guitar voicings. Pick it up!!! |
