Artist History Haia was born in the hot month of July, with a great passion for music that evokes creativity and artistic soul. Haia grew up in Israel, and has recently settled in the USA. She has been singing since childhood, and performed as solo singer with Josef Hadar (a well-known Israeli composer). At the age of fourteen, Haia was a lead singer with a show touring Europe. After high school, she served her mandatory army service, and subsequently continued her education at a teaching college, studying to become a music teacher for elementary and middle schools. Haia studied during the day and performed at night at special events. Her repertoire includes "oldies" and new music sung in seven different languages : English, Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Hebrew and Greek. The wide range of Haia's repertoire reaches the hearts of everyone in the audience. Haia's warm voice, interesting repertoire, and unique talent have taken her around the world. Her diverse vocal abilities have been showcased in Morocco, Switzerland, Germany, and the United States, to name just a few places where she has sung. Haia is now working on "Different Hats", a new album - the cover of which appears at the top of this page. The CD cover painting was commissioned specifically for this project. The artist, Greg Robertson, immersed himself in the diversity of the music, and envisioned Haia wearing different hats. "Different Hats" includes twelve original songs, by Haia; songs about life situations and relationships set to a diverse mix of music ranging from Egyptian and Spanish melodies to smooth jazz. The marriage of lyrics and music was the collaboration of Haia, Alex Soya - her loving husband - and Mark Hubrouk. In this album, Haia demonstrates her attraction to the mixing of cultures, and melding of peoples, as she dreams of a world without boundaries.
