Artist History
I started playing acoustic guitar at 20, as an alternative to suicide because I didn't want to spend my life as an economic slave. At 21 I started a five year period playing electric bass in a hard rock band called Warklear Newhead that never got out of the basement. At 23 I came up with a theoretical invention called Audio Animation - a way to use a computer to process sounds to create animated, 3-dimensional pictures (sound shapes) you "see with your ears." Articles on the process were published in MIX (June, 1984) and SOUNDWORKS (August 2000). (The latest article can be found at www.psycom.com). I studied electronic music, film production, computer graphics, etc. at the University of Utah from 1989-1992. I played bass in a variety of rock bands till 1991 when I began working with Darren Weight, a keyboardist, using my computer based studio to do any sort of music we felt like. We released a cassette album called "Before the Beginning" under the band name "Huh?" in January, 1992 (www.mp3.com/huh). Darren finally quit to become the manager of Area 51, an underground dance club in Salt Lake, so I assembled our spacey, electronic material and released the CD "HEAD" under the band name Psychic Trance Fur in May, 1998 (www.mp3.com/psychictrancefur). In 2 1/2 years we have sold FIVE CDs to anyone but friends. My total income from live performance over the last 27 years is $20.55. Music is my reason for living, and if it doesn't make me enough to keep me alive soon that reason will no longer exist. If you like this music, PLEASE tell your friends. Thanks. |
