    Artist description
OSTARA is RICHARD LEVIATHAN and STU MASON. The new album, 'Ultima Thule' will be released December 2003 by Prophecy Productions. The album, 'Kingdom Gone' has been released by German label, Eis&licht. The first album, 'Secret Homeland' was released by World Serpent Distribution (UK) in March 2000. Few comparisons truly capture the essence of Ostara whose music can be described as a cross between contemporary and folk styles that embraces traditional motifs and expresses a fundamentally Occidental character. Main influences: Death in June, Nine Inch Nails, Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen. All the texts and songs are original compositions. Due to the pending release of Ostara's album, 'Ultima Thule' on Prophecy Productions / Eis&Licht in December, we have decided not to add any new material to MP3.com. Ostara have managed to construct a singularly significant work and it will be interesting to see if it is capable of crossing the boundaries of perception to be fully realised as it so painfully deserves. While several styles are drawn from the well-spring of Old Europa the ultimate result is purely that of Ostara - Flux Europa.Richard and Timothy have come up with what may well be the best thing you'll hear all year. Amazing dark pop - ScorpiusOstara is the next step in neo-folk music or at least a modern and more accesible version of i
