Artist description
Quality sonic nature landscapes! My goal as Guy in the Woods is to
share my enjoyment and love of nature through producing these
soundscapes (sonic landscapes) of the woods of the Haliburton
Highlands, central Ontario, Canada. Unlike other nature-recording
artists, I work with all natural sounds, with no instrumental
arrangements added. My recording philosophy:
Each sound has been recorded in stereo, using omnidirectional
microphones to attempt to fully capture the natural ambience and
acoustical space of the Highlands. Then by carefully rearranging,
editing, mixing, and lightly processing, I transform the sounds
into the soundscapes here. My recordings are treated with the
same respect and reverence as I treat the environment. I tread
lightly and try not to leave footprints.
Though my goal is not to make money, the CD sales help to recover expenses. |
