Artist description Dispenza is a Los Angeles based ensemble dedicated to the exploration of musical texture and rhythm. The result is a music containing the complexities of jazz and organic improvisation, with traces of hip-hop, funk, rock, electronica, and postmodern classical. Members of dispenza have played at the Playboy Jazz Festival, the '98 New York Jazz Festival, the '98 Lillehammer Jazz Festival, Nashville's Summer Lights Festival, and the Eastman Jazz Festival. Group members have had the added pleasure of recording and playing with such world class artists as Parliament-Funkadelic, Billy Higgins, Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Ginger Baker, Benny Carter, John Faddis, Wynton Marsalis, Burning Spear, and Weapon of Choice.
