Artist History
ATTN: was born in early 1999 when 3 of the 4 members of The Stereo decided to create some "new rock" on the side. It was decided that the 3 would look for a new drummer and Jeremy Tappero would play guitar and handle vocal duties. Upon return from tour JT headed right in to the studio to start writing and doing demos. These demos would later become the first batch of ATTN: songs. The songs were played for Jeremy Bergo (Bass) and Erik Hanson (Guitar+Vocals). The boys were hooked and the plotting began. Bergo had a line on a drummer David Jarnstrom. JT called Dave hit it off immediately. So JT sent a copy of the early demos his way… the next phone call was as follows: (Dave) "DUDE this is exactly what I've been wanting to do" (JT) "SWEEEET when do you want to get together!" The 2 arranged to play together for the first time. After a few hours of playing the decision has made itself… and then there were 4. The next few months were spent locked away in JT's studio practicing and doing more demos. The plan was to write enough material for an EP. But soon ATTN: found themselves sorting through songs for a full length. And after being asked to leave The Stereo, they had no reason not to push on full steam ahead. The boys started recording 14 songs in February and are currently shopping for a label to get this record out. "But what do they sound like?" This is a great question. I have heard many things but the most common is… "Its like somewhere between Foo Fighters, Jimmy Eat World and like 80s pop radio" This blend promises to be an infectious one that will lend itself to letting ATTN: weave in and out of many different scenes, and win over all types of music fans. ATTENTION: is no stranger to touring. Erik has toured with Kill Sadie, AMP176 and The Stereo. Bergo has spent the last 2 years touring with The Stereo, and JT has toured with a handful of bands in the past few years. The boys plan to take everything they've learned about touring, and its time to take this new show on the road. COME ON ALONG… ATTENTION: STARTS TODAY!!! Any questions? Press Reviews
Formed just two years ago as a side-project by three (since-exiled) members of The Stereo, Attention:s addictive emo-rock has already eclipsed the entirety of their previous band’s work.
Maybe the Midwests best answer to the Foo Fighters Dave Grohl, drummer-turned-frontman Jeremy Tappero and his bandmates show an uncanny knack for polishing jaged rock songs with ultra-catchy pop hooks.
This six-song, self-titled debut is a guilty mix of dense guitar, bitter lyrics and big choruses. Lyrically, like The Stereo, most of the songs deal with relationships gone awry, but Attention: avoids much of the sappy, self-loathing The Stereo gets stuck in too often. Instead, with a Grohl-esque growl, Tappero snarls more than he slumps.
Once their live show catches up with this EPs energy level, it could be just a matter of time before these guys are coming to a sports arena near you. - Daniel Haugen
