Artist History Ascolto was formed in June 2000, amidst the local recording scene's jumping to the 'electronica genre' bandwagon. It was a time that every dance gathering was called a "rave" party. Seeing that a lot of electronica bands have been cropping up, Toti and Brian have felt that they shouldn't be far behind, especially both of them have been pioneers in this genre (Rivermaya Remixed). So it made sense that when Toti contacted Brian to collaborate, things just clicked and it went on from there. Both have almost the same taste in dance music, ranging from deep to tech house, finding a commonality in funkier/jazzier sound. Although Toti is a drummer by default, he has learned to form dance tracks entirely on his own, using relatively simple equipment. Not to mention that he's the best DJ the Philippines has to offer, and has the wealth of influence from his 20-year humongous vinyl collection and years of spinning experience. Brian on the other hand is a veteran of advertising jingles for 10 years, from this he has worked on numerous ads, that honed his arranging ang producing capabilities in various music styles. Together, their sound is very mature, full and of course, infectiously head-nodding.
