Press Reviews
This band is so fucking awesome that it’s hard to believe. Little old me was browsing MP3.com for some hot tunes and mostly coming across the kind of blandly semi-ok fodder that was as utterly forgettable as those recent episodes of FRIENDS. Ho hum. I was about ready to fall asleep......until the Mallrats knocked me on my ass. Whoa. You know how all those bands that call themselves “power pop” are usually woefully lacking in the power AND the pop departments? Well, Jack, these goddamn Mallrats are the REAL DEAL! I’m talking loud, exploding mod-punk Rickenbacker power chords, melodies so pleasing that I could just about cum in my boxer shorts, and catchy choruses to DIE FOR. This is power pop as it was MEANT to sound---bouncy, crunchy, rocking, and absolutely infectious!
I WOULD say that “A Girl Like You” and “Baby Take Me Back” are destined to be massive radio hits that’ll have the world singing, dancing, and shaking booty---but let’s get real. A public that embraces Nickelback and Staind doesn’t DESERVE songs this good. Be on the lookout for this Sacramento power trio---or better yet, go listen to ’em right now! If labels aren't out there DYING to put out this band's first record, this whole underground rock world of ours is totally FUCKED.
