Music Style
Ed: Our musical style is hard to define. Most of our originals have a heavy acoustic guitar influence because I love the sound of the acoustic guitar. As a cover band, we had more of an in-your-face electric sound with the versatility to play music from Chuck Berry to Limp Bizkit. Most of my original music has a more personal feel to it. I would consider the music's style in my songs to be simple in nature. I find guitar solos to be very boring, so any solos in my songs are short and add to the music. |

Artist History
"RIGHT NOW NOTHING" IS RECORDING NEW MUSIC EVERYDAY FOR YOUR LISTENING PLEASURE.
Right Now Nothing is a band from Penn State University. Three members of the band hail from DuBois, PA and the other from Clintonville, PA. In late 1999 and early 2000, the band headlined such Pennsylvania establishments as the Crowbar in State College, the Locker Room in Butler, and the Ski-Lodge and Gateway Cafe in DuBois.
Currently, Right Now Nothing consists of Ed Fatula and whoever he records or performs with.
Ed: Where did the name "Right Now Nothing" come from? The name 'Right Now Nothing' comes from being asked about my band. When someone said, "what's the name of your band," I would say, "right now -- nothing." One time someone told me, "that's a cool name." I was kind of caught off guard and I replied, "what." They repeated, "that's a cool name -- Right Now Nothing." I said, "yeah it is, thanks."
The band's roots: Tim and Brian started getting together and playing with Dan Swiger (then, our bassist) sometime during 10th grade of high school. They then asked me to sing for them and we formed a band called "Retribution." After high school I picked up the guitar, they laughed at me when I did it before, and learned to play. Tim, Brian, Aaron DeVallance (guitarist/bassist), and myself then formed a band called "19 Bones." "19 Bones" carried on for about a year with Brian, Aaron, and myself. During that period I picked up a four track recorder and started recording music. After I record music for about a year, I started compiling a decent amount and I needed a name for a tape that I made. Due to the name of the dining hall at Penn State Behrend, the band name on the tape is the "Dobbin's Five." "The Dobbin's Five" consisted of Dan Nightingale, Brian Pontzer, and myself. But, "The Dobbin's Five" was not catchy enough and was just a joke anyway, so it eventually turned into "Right Now Nothing." "Right Now Nothing" started playing full-time when I decided that I was going to play individually at a coffee house, called the University Perk. I started asking Micah, Brian, and Tim to help me out on some songs. Well, it turned into the first "Right Now Nothing" performance because they ended up playing every single song with me, I think. Of course, the flyer read Ed Fatula with ....., which I felt bad about after everyone put in their part. And so "Right Now Nothing" was formed, day turned into night-night turned into day-and hell froze over. The end.
