Artist description
I create epic musical voyages. I'm a one-man act. My intention is not to write popular or danceable music. I compose music using computer hardware and software like Impulse Tracker 2.14, I'm probably one out of a few surviving tracker composers since it's appearance in the 80's. At the moment I am trying to get more people who compose tracker music to join mp3.com, and exsisting ones to join my stations. I believe in individuality, conformity is a bad thing. This can be seen in my music, since every track is a piece of art in itself, since it doesn't resemble ANYTHING you've ever heard before. I did a couple of remixes, but my better works are originally composed. I do remix my own music, simply because I figure the same message can get accros in a multitude of ways. My music will probably never be played at parties, just because it lacks the "popular" thing that all the party tracks have. My music is very personal, the ideal listening situation is when you're on your own or with your lover. It works best with a pair of high quality speakers, since I use a lot of low-frequency instruments most systems simply "ignore". I add a lot of 3D positioning to my music, because I believe that if you have two speakers, you should HEAR two speakers, and not just one dull sound. The best setup is where you can sit on a couch or a comfy chair, in the center of a surround-sound system. Headphones work very well too, since they bring out the best expanded stereo. Headphones, however, tend to "ignore" the lower frequencies, and you don't get to "feel" the music all over your body. I love breakdancing and my music does have some good breaky parts!
I believe in quality, I hate poorly recorded songs at mp3.com. I dedicate a lot of time to making sure the balance of high and low frequencies are right, and make sure there is no distortion or interference when recording.
At the moment I'm working on a mastering of songs by a friend of mine, Dj Databass (former Dj Black Scorpion) who was in the Delta Dj Team with me. The songs will be on here in the next few months, and they will also be published on my 3rd album, Fx Processor, allong with lots of other previously unreleased material.. |

Music Style
Electronic Computer Compositions ranging from trance to drum and bass to new age. I utilise a lot of stereo in my music, and most of my music sounds best on surround systems such as SBLive! (eax) and Dolby Surround. High-end speakers are recommended! |

Artist History
I started writing music in 1993, after three years of playing the saxophone. After some - not unsuccesful - compositions I quit playing for about half a year, then I discovered the world of digital music. I started with fasttracker 1.0 and at the moment I am working with Impulse Tracker 2.14, the newest version available, which dates back to 1998! After five demotapes I've published two albums (winter '99 and winter 2000). I started the Delta Dj Team in 1996, but it fell apart in 1998 after I went to Canada for a year. I tried to get the DDT up and running again when I got back, but I had to face the fact: not everybody is as fond of electronic music as I am. So I continued solo. Members of the DDT were Dj Batfink (nothing much published) Mc Thunderlizard (nothing at all published) Mc Gighandi (pretty good evil sounds, no real complete works) and Dj Databass, also known as Dj Black Scorpion, Dj Nemesis or Dj Ron. Dj Databass and I were the most active members, and together we've published dozens of tracks. We swapped them in school on floppies. Dj Databass remixed some of my songs, and I did some of his and that way we improved our music. Dj Databass never published anything officially, but he has agreed with me that I am allowed to publish my remixes of his work, since he quit the busines. I've uploaded one of his remixes of one of my songs, Hymn to Aurora. He added some speed and some groove to my "easy going" highway-cruising song featuring Polaris Dragonstrings. It took some effort to prepare Dj Databass' remix to make it fit mp3.com (it was in .s3m and mono, so there still was a lot of work left for me:). After I left the DDT I never joined any other group, simply because I didn't meet any. A lot of my friends had bands, but they weren't involved in the electronic music scene. I did, however, write some compositions together with friends. Some of the samples I use were made/recorded by friends of mine, and the song Walkín' on da Sidewalk is inspired by a project from school. I did an impression of Guns and Roses' November Rain together with Chris "whiteman" Simmons which can also be found here. I've also made a soundtrack to a game, the popular online strategy game Planetarion (www.planetarion.com). |

Press Reviews
About my second album: "The Concert in the Woods by Mc Galactix is a glorious piece of ear felatio, which plays upon the tender parts of the ears, with each track changing the styles of popular culture. This particular album isn't just about the simple philisophy of music, it contains graphic, well developed changes displayed in the soul of the creator-Martijn Van Eenennaam, otherwise known as Mc Galactix.Written in at least two countries, inspired by many, there is much influence of many cultures, there is more culture in this album than in the modern laboratories of today. Mc_Galactix does one hell of a job creating and mixing for the new millenium, in my opinion, he is the future of modern music. Chris "Whiteman" Simmons of FBI |
