Artist History
John E. Cakes was a poor, unfortunate urchin who eked out money for bread crusts by sweeping out coal chutes and removing asbestos. His fortunes reversed when the wealthy Mr. Copperlow gave him an ha'penny for his efforts, which John E. Cakes then used as the down payment for a tamborine. |
