Jean Cabbie & The Secret Admirer Society is a pop/rock group from Puerto Rico. “Anthem,” its first release, is the result of a series of studio sessions done in several recording studios around the Island. The eclectic mix of songs recorded for this release ranges from pop and classic rock styles to dance/pop music. All the songwriting is done by Jean Cabbie with musical arrangements done by The Secret Admirer Society.The members of the group are Juan Cabrer A/K/A Jean Cabbie who does lead and backing vocals and plays rhythm guitar; Eric Cabrer plays lead guitar and backing vocals; José Clemente on bass guitar and backing vocals; and José Vila on drums and percussion. “Anthem” includes the following songs: “Oh Donna,” “Help Me Make It Through The Night” and “I’m Happier When You’re Glad”, this being produced in a single format and an extended dance mix version arranged, recorded, and mixed by José Vila with co-production credits by Jean Cabbie.As part of their promotional efforts the group has been featured in the “A Oscuras Pero Encendidos” TV Show which is currently aired in the Miami Area. The group has also been featured in several editions of “The Musician’s Guide to Touring and Promotion,” which was published by the former “Musician Magazine”. The group was also invited on the DJ Paulie Radio Show which is broadcast from West Hartford, Conneticut, and syndicated in 417 radio stations around the United States and Canada. Recently, the group was represented by the International Licensing Group at the MIDEM Tradeshows in France for the purpose of obtaining a distribution licensing agreement for areas covering Europe and Asia.Currently, the band is recording a second 12-song release scheduled for the Summer of 2000. These songs will be part of the band’s repertoire as well as those recorded for “Anthem.” As part of its marketing plans, the band is promoting “Anthem” throughout the independent and commercial music markets, press, radio and the Internet. |
