Artist History The band began when guitarist and vocalist Jeremy Harker and guitar player Danny Harker began writing material together in the Spring of 2001. The two shared a similar vision about what type of music they had always wanted to play. Drummer Patrick Belnap soon joined them. His added insight and skillfull drumming took the Melody Tree in a direction that is artistically innovative and widely appealing. Aaron Daley eas added later to take on duties as a guitarist. The band wrote its firest few songs with an emphasis on concept - conceptually aligning lyrics, music, and songs. In the summer of 2001 The Melody Tree recorded three demo songs, of which "Spring" enjoyed a lengthy stay in mp3.com's top forty on the shoegazer charts. They began to play shows in Provo, Ut. and played with such national acts as Coastal and Maya Shore.
