Artist History Very Briefly......Formed May ‘99 in Bristol, initially with 3 guitarists so everyone could have a bit of a break. Settled on current line-up in October ‘99, when Andy Guitarist left......so Matt and Toby have to work a bit harder, but at least everyone can hear Lettie now. The sound?.....Kinda Pixies Wannadies Boo Radleys 60's Fuzztone Pop Guitar nonsense wit’ sweetly sarcastic vocals from the woman they call ‘The Taunton Nightingale’. Apart from gigging in and around Bristol, Shelbeyville have been playing the usual toilets round the uk, sometimes even getting paid instead of getting thrown out. Songwriter Matt believes that the band are heading in the right direction: ‘I don’t know if we’re getting any better, but we are definitely getting louder..........’. The band have a track, ‘Don’t Look Down’, on the Bristol Guitar Compilation ‘Avon Scrawling’out July 2000 on Slipped Disc Records.
