Artist History
In their heavily affected fake russian accents: "We come from Moon to bring you death by Old Time Rock and Roll" Formed in 1997 as part of an amnesty international project to have 80's funnyman/sound machine Micheal Winslow be elected president. After his unsuccessful bid for the white house, Moon Mission liked their indie new wave sound so much they decided to stick to gether much like the Bannanna Splits, except for the splitting part, oh yeah and the bannannas. Their first LP "ex nihlo nihl" rocketed them to the top of the charts in Romania and Budapest only to be pulled from the shelves by an enraged Slavic censory board. Their second LP, "The Fake Pope", recorded in the summer of 2000, failed to live up to the precedent set by their first album, due to the fickle tastes of the Eastern Europian Record buying public. They are currently working on a comeback album that they hope to be their breakout record in the States. All of their albums plus many other fine gifts and sunderies are available on their website. |
