Artist History We recorded these three tracks in islington. Jess' influences are R&B based and Justin comes from jazz roots. Jess's sexy lyrics and soul voice ride Justins funky keys and/or guitar while rod adds a tight pure drum and bass backbone.

Group Members A femme fatale brimming with attitude, Jess' soul/funk/jazz inspiration is unmistakable in everything she produces. Born a diva, Jess has a striking voice, a syrupy quality and depth of tone which brings a sensual energy to every song. Jess sings jazz to bring in some revenue alongside her MPhil in Psychology at Cambridge University. She plays rugby to vent that aggression as well as using her voice. Athleticism and music are her passions so she's no average sex kitten - sister to a boxer she packs a mean punch.She's "hot to touch" and hot into the music industry so at the date of writing, unsigned. Justin's first love is his sax - although this features in only one of the tracks - "Shadow". He has strong jazz routes and is a fantastic saxophonist - which is how he and Jess met through a jazz club he ran in Cambridge where she came to sing.He and Jess co-wrote these tracks with him playing the keys and inspiring Jess to come up with a smooth sound and some powerful vocal lines. He is seriously talented, playing keys, sax and guitar on these tracks. When he and Jess get together there is a funk implosion and their songs typically take shape in between 5 - 30 mins. Justin is building up an impressive repertoire of his own, will be leading big band CUJO next year and sessions for London funk band Tacoma. A PhD student at Cambridge Jess thinks of him as "The Professor" but his prolific writing and dedication are hard to sum up. He too is as yet unsigned. Rod plays both the drums and bass and the result is a brilliantly tight and pure sound, which is exactly what Jess planned when she asked him to play. He and Jess go back a long way and despite a massive musical diary Rod jumped at the chance to play with Jess and Justin. Rod is famous at the studios for being a 'One-Take-Wonder'. Funk runs through his veins and he has a raw talent and energy that has seen him tour and support Faithless as well as outfit a variety of bands from rock'n'roll, to country, pop and funk bands. His session playing is remarkably precise yet zesty and creative - characteristic of Rod's whole off-the-wall persona.
