Artist History
The story so far... 1996: The world trembles as Dying Day form. Their first Demo rearing its ugly head a mere four months later. But suffering from poor sound quality that angers the group greatly, they hide out at various live venues whilst plotting their next move... 1997/98: A great comet is sighted as Dying Day unleash their next recording, the hugely popular "BlackDust" on CD. This gains them favourable reviews around the world and is supported by the launch of the Band's award winning web site and radio play everywhere from Canada to Portugal to 2CR FM, one of the South of England's largest commercial stations. 1999: Earthquakes, disasters and Dark omens abound as Dying Day's next work of molten metal, "Redshift" makes it's presence well and truly known, Magazines love it, DJ's play it, Fans buy it! Heavy guitars,Thunderous drumming and Subsonic bass combine to push the Band's formidable sound from even the most feeble stereo systems! Compared to everyone from Thin Lizzy and Iron Maiden to Entombed and Carcass, Dying Day's sound is truly distinctive! The band are invited to appear on a number of Independent compilations from England to Norway and round out the 20th century by playing a few select live shows, resulting in Mosh-heavy fun for all involved... The 21st Century and beyond: Religious zealots feared the year 2000... Oracles and seers predicted armageddon... They were wrong... 2000: Intensity and power reach new heights with the imminent release of "Mimulus", Dying Day's latest Metal creation! Changes are taking place the world over, the old institutions are falling, power bases are being displaced by a greater force, the Old Gods are returning to claim what is rightfully theirs... Coincidence? Dying Day are setting a precedent for 21st Century Heavy Metal with killer songs, a powerful sound and an on-stage persona to match! Live Performances at the Blandford festival and other venues around the UK prove the bands material and energy on stage to be popular with a live audience and it is only a short time before the acolytes of Metal herald Dying Day as a champion of their cause. They are coming for you... On 21st July 2002, Lee(Vocals) quit the band citing irreconcilable differences with the other members of Dying Day over the logistical organisation of the bands operations. It is expected that the band will carry on as usual. Asked for a quote on the split, Lee replied "Best wishes to the rest of the guys, and to my successor, good luck!". |
