Artist description
In the city an hour and a half south of the City that Never Sleeps, lives a man who grew up a half hour east of the City of Brotherly Love. Branko Jakominich was born in Cherry Hill, New Jersey amidst the excitement of the bicentennial of our great country. MASH was in its fourth and most glorious season. A polite gentleman by the name of Jimmy Carter was looking to be our next president. Jaws was terrifying moviegoers in the summer prior to Branko’s birth and Sasquatch sightings dropped for the first time since 1965. His first trip to Croatia, the birthplace of his parents and siblings, was in the summer of 1978. He has no memories of this trip, but has fond memories of his following trips to his homeland, which took place every other summer after 1978 and ended in 1988, when Croatia began to declare its independence and was thrown into civil war. In the mid ’90s, Branko and two other South Jersey natives formed The Interpreters, a rock trio whose short life was almost as explosive as its only album, Back in the U.S.S.A. Branko is now embarking on a highly anticipated solo career after the demise of The Interpreters. With the help of Graham Gormley, Keith Peirce, Tracy Stanton and fromer Interpreters guitarist Paul Palladino, Branko hopes to make fathers everywhere proud. |
