Artist History Paul Litteral and Lorelei McBroom met on tour with the Rolling Stones.They later joined with Anthony Jackson the create a sexy,dreamy sensual jazzy/R&B. Their style is reminisant of their influences and yet they have a sound of their own. "The contemporary renaissance of Neo Soul and Jazz flavored 70's style R&B, have helped to define a style that suits us beautifully. I've always loved music that soothes and heals the human spirit. Group Members LORELEI MCBROOM - Vocals"I didn't learn to sing in church, I grew up on folk music (JONI MITCHELL), rock and roll (PINK FLOYD), pop/jazz (STEELY DAN),(EARTH WIND AND FIRE) and soul (STEVIE WONDER) My parents were progressive.They rebelled against the stereo types they grew up on and took an experimental approach with my up bringing." says the Los Angeles born singer who has worked with acts like LOU REED, BILLY IDOL, and EURYTHMICS. As fate would have it, PINK FLOYD ( the Godfathers of Psychedelia) gave her her first exposure to the road on their " Momentary Lapse of Reason" and "Delicate Sound of Thunder" tours. She followed that by touring with "THE ROLLING STONES". Both the Stones and the Floyd gave her a chance to be operatic and bluesy, featuring her in duet with Mick Jagger on " GIMMIE SHELTER " and Pink Floyd on " GREAT GIG IN THE SKY" respectively. Lorelei's talent in both songwriting and arranging caught the attention of NILE RODGERS ( CHIC, MADONNA, DAVID BOWIE)who produced her songs for SISTER SLEDGE and PHILLIP BAILEY (EARTH WIND AND FIRE). Artists ranging from ERYKAH BADU, D'ANGELO and ME'SHELL N'DEGEOCELLO have helped to define a Neo Soul genre, stretching concepts of Black artistry, creating a renaissance in R&B music. " Due to the diversity of my background, I relate to those who take a different approach. Hip Hop has opened the door to genuine creativity. It incompasses everything from opera to metal, jazz over beats. I love band oriented music. It lets you explore contemporary expressions of the most inspired music." PAUL LITTERAL - Trumpet As a member of the UPTOWN HORNS, Paul Litteral worked with some of the founding Fathers and Mothers of Rap/Hip Hop (GRAND MASTER FLASH, RUN DMC, AFRIKA BAMBADA,) Soul (JAMES BROWN, ARETHA FRANKLIN, WILSON PICKETT,) Funk, (CAMEO,) Classic R&B ( RAY CHARLES, LITTLE RICHARD, DR. JOHN,) and Blues (B.B.KING, JOHN LEE HOOKER, IRMA THOMAS,) giving him direct exposure to the musical roots from which todays Hip Hop emerged. Paul has contributed musically to numerous hit R&B artists " WORD UP" Cameo, "LIVING IN AMERICA" James Brown, as well as a staggering array of Pop artists " UNCHAIN MY HEART'" Joe Cocker, "LOVE SHACK" The B52's, "HOT, HOT, HOT " Buster Poindexter. He has appeared in concert and on tour with ( THE ROLLING STONES, J.GEILS BAND, ALBERT COLLINS,) television (DAVID LETTERMAN, MTV, SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE,) and film (ROLLING STONES AT THE MAX,) as well as numerous sound tracks, jingles and timeless tribute albums "COUNTRY RHYTHM AND BLUES" - Natalie Cole, Reba MacIntyre, "TOWER OF SONGS - A Tribute to Leonard Cohen" - Elton John, Billy Joel, "TRIBUTE TO DISNEY' - Bonnie Ratt, Buster Poindexter. He is currently working with ANGIE STONE. At present, Paul is devoting himself to being an artist, switching gears from consomate sideman to band leader and soloist, allowing him to explore his own creative vision. " I've had the good fortune to play with most of my heros. Now I can take that knowledge and use it to enhance my own music. ANTHONY JACKSON - Contra Bass Guitar The bass line opening the O'JAYS " FOR THE LOVE OF MONEY" is a timeless classic anthem written by New York 's native son,( the then teen aged,) Anthony Jackson. Influenced by Motown Legend JAMES JAMERSON, Jackson mastered a sound and style of bass playing that has put him in a catagory all his own. He is considered a musician's musician! His stellar credits cover the full gamet of recording artists, ranging from MADONNA, MICHAEL JACKSON , STEELY DAN, JONI MITCHELL, PAUL SIMON, to Jazz greats QUINCY JONES, BUDDY RICH, MICHEL CAMILLO, GEORGE BENSON, and R&B mega talents CHAKA KHAN, ANITA BAKER,PEABO BRYSON, and LUTHER VANDROSS. Anthony is a true artist on his instument, and his contributions to this band continue to allow him to express his musical voice in a contemporary setting.
